Softball Recap: Archbishop Mitty Monarchs vs. Carlmont Scots

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Mitty). They came out on top against the Carlmont Scots by a score of 13-8 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Monarchs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Kyleigh Mace tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Mitty let Rylie Hicks and Olivia Anderson run wild. Hicks went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, while Anderson scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-6. That's the most hits Anderson has posted since back in April of 2024. Gianna Catalano also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Archbishop Mitty always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
