Recap: Troy Flying Horses vs. Guilderland Flying Dutchmen
The Troy Flying Horses were the 66-63 winner over the Guilderland Flying Dutchmen when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Troy falling 56-42. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points they have scored all season.
Troy lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Stetson Merritt, who scored 12 points. Jamil Taylor was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Troy and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Guilderland, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-10.
Troy will take on Schenectady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Guilderland, they will head out on the road to face off against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Guilderland in New York (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake is ranked 151st, while Guilderland is ranked 673rd).
