The Gates County Red Barons will head out to square off against the Ridgecroft Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gates County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

Gates County is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Perquimans County just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Red Barons were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Ridgecroft lost 19-7 to Lawrence Academy on Tuesday.

Ridgecroft now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Gates County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Gates County got the 'W' in their previous meeting on March 5th against Ridgecroft by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Barons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
