Softball Recap: Sundown Now 12-1 over Last 13 Games

Sundown hadn't done well against Ralls recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Roughnecks blew past the Jackrabbits 18-0. Considering the Roughnecks have won 19 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Destiny Garza made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Brynly Gregory was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Emry Jourden was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Sundown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ralls only posted an OBP of .250.

Sundown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Ralls, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15-1.

Sundown will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jackrabbits: the pair will be back at it again later today.
