Soccer Recap: Silsbee Takes a Loss

Silsbee lost against Vidor back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Silsbee Tigers came up short against the Vidor Pirates, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 461st, while the Pirates are ranked 164th).

This is the second loss in a row for Silsbee and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Vidor, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silsbee will head out to face off against Jasper at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silsbee is facing Jasper at the right time seeing as Jasper is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Vidor, they will venture away from home to square off against Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vidor's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Little Cypress-Mauriceville's offense will have their work cut out for them.
