Football Game Preview: Heritage Academy Heroes vs. AZ Compass Prep Dragons

The Heritage Academy Heroes will square off against the AZ Compass Prep Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Heritage Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Heritage Academy Gateway with a sharp 44-20 win. Heritage Academy's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Ethan Cahall produced another solid effort rushing for 152 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Nashton Ford, who picked up 55 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, AZ Compass Prep put their dominant defense on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-0 victory over Skyline Prep. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Bengals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

AZ Compass Prep's win came from a few key players Heritage Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Javion McKinney, who rushed for 36 yards and one TD, and also caught one touchdown. Carston 'Diesel' Robinson was another key player, throwing for 164 yards while completing 73.3% of his passes.

One reason for the win was AZ Compass Prep's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They received some extra help from Keytrin Harris, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Heritage Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for AZ Compass Prep, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
