Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Granite Bay Grizzlies

The Franklin Wildcats will face off against the Granite Bay Grizzlies at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Franklin will be strutting in after a win while Granite Bay will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Franklin was able to grind out a solid victory over Oak Ridge, taking the game 4-1. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Franklin got a great performance from Dylan Wood as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Brandon Williams was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Franklin hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Ridge struck out 12 times.

Meanwhile, Granite Bay lost 13-4 to Oakmont on Monday. The loss was the Grizzlies' first of the season.

Granite Bay saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tim Ayers, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Ayers a new career-high in hits.

Franklin pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.8 runs. As for Granite Bay, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.
