Softball Recap: Corner Canyon Chargers vs. Bingham Miners

Corner Canyon extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-18 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Bingham Miners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 back in March.

As for Bingham, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-7-2. The result was nothing new for the Miners, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Bingham's part, not much got past Brecka Larson, who gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Corner Canyon off the board. Larson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Shyann Banasky was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kendra Hintze was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Corner Canyon will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mountain Ridge at 3:30 p.m. The Sentinels will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Chargers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bingham, they will venture away from home to square off against Herriman at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
