Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Traverse City West). They never let the Sault Area Blue Devils get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Thursday. Given Traverse City West's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Sault Area are ranked 395th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Traverse City West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those eight games. As for Sault Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Traverse City West wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Ludington on the 13th. Sault Area has also already played their next matchup (against Houghton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
