Basketball Recap: Queen Creek's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Queen Creek needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Amaya Rodgers. The Queen Creek Bulldogs snuck past the Desert Ridge Jaguars with a 41-35 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Rodgers, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 blocks per game.

Queen Creek's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-16. As for Desert Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Queen Creek and Desert Ridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Queen Creek (ranked 193rd) will meet Higley (ranked 48th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Desert Ridge will challenge Gilbert at 5:30 p.m. on Friday down 144 places (149 vs. 5).
