Basketball Recap: College Park Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for College Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They skirted past the Benicia Panthers 67-65. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 73-64 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Steven Barnett was his usual excellent self, putting up 20 points along with five assists and five boards. Miles Cooper was another key player, posting 16 points.

College Park's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-7. As for Benicia, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-8.

College Park and Benicia should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. College Park (ranked 455th) will meet Concord (ranked 1090th) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. College Park is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.3 points per game this season. Similarly, Benicia (ranked 425th) will meet Mt. Diablo (ranked 1159th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
