Softball Recap: Walker Valley Comes Up Short

Walker Valley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.84 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They came up short against the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since March 12th.

Morgan Rice was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Davenport, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Walker Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-5 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Stewarts Creek and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Walker Valley will be playing at home against Bradley Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Stewarts Creek, they will venture away from home to challenge Wilson Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
