Softball Recap: Carroll Find Success

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Carroll brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They had just enough and edged out Montgomery Academy 10-8. The victory was some much needed relief for Carroll as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Natalie Draper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up 12 Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Nevaeh Landrum was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Pari Patel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Carroll's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Montgomery Academy, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carroll will welcome Eufaula at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montgomery Academy, they will host Glenwood at 4:30 p.m. on March 13th.
