Softball Recap: Laguna Hills Comes Up Short

Laguna Hills fell victim to Calvary Chapel and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Eagles. The Hawks just can't catch a break and have now endured eight losses in a row.

Hannah Russell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those earned runs were her first of the season.

At the plate, Laguna Hills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kassidy Patterson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Laguna Hills' record now sits at 1-8. As for Calvary Chapel, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Coincidentally, Laguna Hills and Calvary Chapel will both be playing Buena Park the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Coyotes at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, while the Hawks will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
