Basketball Recap: St. Johns Comes Up Short

St. Johns suffered their closest defeat since January 3rd on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Portland Raiders by a score of 35-33. While losing is never fun, the Redwings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th in Michigan, while the Raiders are ranked 100th in Michigan).

St. Johns has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. The win was the fifth in a row for Portland, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.

St. Johns does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Portland, they will face off against Ionia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
