Basketball Recap: Kansas City East Christian Academy Find Success

Kansas City East Christian Academy posted their closest win since January 20th on Friday. They escaped with a win against the SWCHA S Saints by the margin of a single free throw, 81-80. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 69-58 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Maddox Carrillo was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-14 en route to 22 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Keene, who shot 83% from the field to rack up 14 points and five assists.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Kansas City East Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Kansas City East Christian Academy's record is now 18-23. As for SWCHA S, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.
