Recap: Santa Maria Saints vs. Caruthers Blue Raiders
The Caruthers Blue Raiders typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Santa Maria Saints proved too difficult a challenge. Santa Maria came out on top against Caruthers by a score of 36-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Santa Maria.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Maria to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josue Elena, who threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes. Aldo Araiza and his 102 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Santa Maria's win.
Santa Maria has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Caruthers, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
Santa Maria will head out on the road to face off against Dos Palos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dos Palos is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games. Caruthers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
