Basketball Recap: Freeman's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Freeman won the last time they faced Colman-Egan, and Rylee Peters did her part to make sure it happened again. The Freeman Flyers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Colman-Egan C-E Hawks 52-50 thanks in part to Peters, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Hofer, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Freeman and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Colman-Egan, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Freeman won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Howard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Freeman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. As for Colman-Egan, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Baltic at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
