Baseball Recap: Pickerington Central Gets the Win

While Pickerington Central's victory against Reynoldsburg wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Raiders 3-2.

Jack Thompson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. Pickerington Central is 2-1 when Thompson allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Ty Hudson was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Josh Wolf was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Pickerington Central's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Reynoldsburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Pickerington Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against Reynoldsburg: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
