Softball Game Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Wasatch Wasps

Timpview is on a nine-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Wasatch an eight-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Timpview Thunderbirds will host the Wasatch Wasps at 3:30 p.m. Timpview has given up an average of 16.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Timpview took on Maple Mountain on Thursday. Timpview came up short against Maple Mountain, falling 11-1.

Timpview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halia Aumua, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Wasatch got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Cedar Valley by a score of 16-11.

The team relied heavily on Liana Jones, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Raygen Price, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Wasatch lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 2-1 when they post two or more home runs.

Wasatch's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Timpview, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Timpview might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Wasatch in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Timpview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
