Softball Game Preview: Dimond Lynx vs. Delta Huskies

The Dimond Lynx will face off against the Delta Huskies at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Dimond's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Homer 17-0. The Lynx haven't had any issues with the Mariners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Aubree Ogee made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kea D'Elia was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Estabrook, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Dimond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Homer only posted an OBP of .100.

Meanwhile, Delta had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Homer on Thursday.

Dimond's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Delta, their record is now 1-0.
