Mishawaka and Northridge are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2019, but likely not for long. The Cavemen will venture away from home to square off against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Mishawaka is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, it was close, but Mishawaka sidestepped Elkhart for a 4-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavemen.

Gunnar Eby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Braedyn Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Edwardsburg on Saturday.

Mason Zimmerman looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Brody Wood was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Northridge's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mishawaka, their record is now 15-7.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mishawaka has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Northridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Mishawaka skirted past Northridge 3-2 in their previous matchup on May 2nd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavemen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
