Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Panthers vs. Mt. Pleasant Tigers

Princeton hasn't had much luck against Mt. Pleasant recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Princeton Panthers challenge the Mt. Pleasant Tigers at 11:00 a.m.

Princeton is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Plano West an easy 76-54 win. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 460th, while the Wolves are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Fightin' Indians, posting a 69-41 victory.

Mt. Pleasant pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Princeton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Princeton lost to Mt. Pleasant on the road by a decisive 62-46 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Princeton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
