Basketball Recap: Venice Comes Up Short

Venice lost against Braden River back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Venice Indians took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braden River Pirates.

Braden River found their leader in sophomore Lawaiian Long, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 25 points and five boards. Long continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Deven Womack was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Venice's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Braden River, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-13.

Venice has already played their next contest (against North Port), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Braden River will host Spoto at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Braden River is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season.
