Softball Recap: Evangelical Christian Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

Evangelical Christian is still undefeated this season after their match against North Fort Myers on Tuesday, but North Fort Myers came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Evangelical Christian Sentinels came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the North Fort Myers Red Knights. Nine seems to be a good number for the Sentinels as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Hayden Billie spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karsyn Mootz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Keaunna Green was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
