Volleyball Recap: Woodside Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Woodside extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-12. They lost 3-0 to the Hillsdale Fighting Knights. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

As for Hillsdale, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 7-12. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

Leading Hillsdale to victory were Mia DeMartini and Kealani Alvarez. DeMartini had 17 digs and three assists, while Alvarez had 24 assists and three aces. DeMartini is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Woodside and Hillsdale could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge Sequoia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (898 vs. 158). Meanwhile, Hillsdale (ranked 498th) will meet Menlo-Atherton (ranked 86th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
