Basketball Game Preview: Cheverus Stags vs. Scarborough Red Storm

Cheverus and Scarborough are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Cheverus Stags will challenge the Scarborough Red Storm at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheverus will be strutting in after a victory while Scarborough will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Cheverus earned a 52-39 win over Windham. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stags.

Meanwhile, Scarborough was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 31-26 to Gorham. The Red Storm have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Scarborough's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Cheverus, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Cheverus couldn't quite finish off Scarborough when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 47-44. Can Cheverus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
