Softball Recap: Hudson Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Hudson had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Sunlake Seahawks by a score of 3-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cobras of the 5-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Hudson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Sunlake's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Hudson will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against River Ridge at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sunlake, they are taking a road trip to face off against Weeki Wachee at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Sunlake has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
