Baseball Recap: Immaculata Takes a Loss

Immaculata was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Somerville Pioneers. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by just one run.

Immaculata got a good showing from Rob Sikorski, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Sikorski a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Immaculata saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Labrador, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Immaculata's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Somerville, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Looking ahead, Immaculata will face off against Cherokee at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Somerville, they will venture away from home to face off against Manville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
