Softball Recap: Beckman Comes Up Short

Beckman saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the Edison Chargers by a score of 6-4.

Bree Nguyen was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Freedman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Beckman's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Edison, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Beckman is taking a road trip to square off against Dana Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Dana Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Beckman's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Edison, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-3 victory against Redlands East Valley on the 8th.
