Softball Game Preview: Wooster Colts vs. Portola Tigers

Wooster is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Portola a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Wooster Colts will be playing at home against the Portola Tigers at 3:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wooster fell victim to Fernley and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 20-0 to the Vaqueros.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Portola was a bit more limited in their match last Saturday. They came up short against Burney, falling 14-2. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Portola saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ainsleigh Pruitt, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Portola's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Wooster, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Wooster might still be hurting after the 18-1 loss they got from Portola in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Wooster avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
