Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Nolan Berry and Ethan Bare Lead Warren County to Victory

There's no place like home for Warren County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Hylton Bulldogs 68-48 on Monday. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 64-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Warren County was led to victory by Ethan Bare and Nolan Berry. Bare almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds, while Berry dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Berry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Craig, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Warren County was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Hylton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kaleb Swanigan dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 boards. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for Swanigan. Amari Butler was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals.

Warren County moved to 2-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Hylton, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Warren County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-55 loss against Strasburg on the 2nd. As for Hylton, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Forest Park at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Forest Park will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Hylton surely won't give up without a fight.
