Softball Recap: Meek Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Meek had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They blew past the Jacksonville Christian Academy Thunder 15-2. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Kaydence Cox made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Molli Sandlin was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Anna Collins, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meek's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Meek nor Jacksonville Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
