Recap: Rutherford Rams vs. The Webb School Feet
The Rutherford Rams had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-45 win over The Webb School. Given Rutherford's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in Florida, while The Webb School is ranked 115th in Tennessee), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Shakirah Edwards, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nautica Bouie, who scored 14 points.
Rutherford's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for The Webb School, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rutherford will take on Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Arnold is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for The Webb School, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Coffee County Central at 7:30 p.m. Coffee County Central is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
