Recap: Oakridge Eagles vs. West Catholic Falcons
After a string of four wins, The Oakridge Eagles''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 45-0 loss at the hands of West Catholic. While losing is never fun, Oakridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 129th, while West Catholic is ranked 18th).
West Catholic was led to victory by Alek Wickstrom and Charlie DeBruyn . Wickstrom threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, while DeBruyn gained 211 total yards and three touchdowns. Nolan Rinehart made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
West Catholic's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Oakridge's QB won't forget Ethan Stoner anytime soon given Stoner sacked him five times.
Oakridge's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for West Catholic, their victory was their 14th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0.
Oakridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Catholic will take on Catholic Central at TBD on Friday. Catholic Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
