Basketball Recap: South Florence Bruins vs. North Myrtle Beach Chiefs
The South Florence Bruins won the last time they faced the North Myrtle Beach Chiefs, and things went their way on Friday too. South Florence enjoyed a cozy 64-47 win over the Chiefs. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Florence.
South Florence got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Robinson out in front who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Robinson hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Lennix Valarie was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
South Florence's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for North Myrtle Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Florence will take on the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Florence will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Bruins are ranked 32nd). As for North Myrtle Beach, they will be playing at home against the Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Myrtle Beach knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully the Chiefs like a good challenge.
