Softball Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Notre Dame Prep Saints
Horizon had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 10-13 to make it four. They fell 5-0 to the Notre Dame Prep Saints. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Saints earlier this season, when they won 6-4.
As for Notre Dame Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
For Notre Dame Prep's part, the result came thanks to Marley Caldwell's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. Caldwell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Notre Dame Prep let Daelynn Flowers and Kendall Gillham run wild.
