Softball Recap: East Rowan Extends Road Winning Streak to 17

While East Rowan put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for South Rowan. The Mustangs blew past the Raiders 11-0. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

East Rowan's victory was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for South Rowan, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. East Rowan will square off against rival Central Cabarrus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 1.9, the Vikings 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, South Rowan is set to challenge their familiar foe Concord at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
