Baseball Recap: Melrose Takes a Loss

Melrose made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Montevideo, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Dutchmen fell just short of the Thunderhawks by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Dutchmen have lost by exactly two runs.

Melrose has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Montevideo, their record is now 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Melrose will face off against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montevideo, they will take on B O L D at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
