 The Chesterton Trojans typically have all the answers at home, but  on Friday the Valparaiso Vikings proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a  63-57 victory over the Trojans. The  win made it back-to-back wins for Valparaiso.
 Valparaiso's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Jack Smiley led the charge by  scoring 17 points along with six  assists and six  rebounds. Smiley has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last 12 times he's  played.  Caden Crowell was another key contributor,  scoring 16 points.
 Valparaiso has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record  this season. As for Chesterton, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
 Valparaiso will head out on the road to  square off against  Hammond Central at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Chesterton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game, a  86-51  win vs. Whiting on the 17th.
