Soccer Recap: George Washington Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Science Leadership Academy

It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but George Washington ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Science Leadership Academy Rockets 3-2. The victory was all the more spectacular given George Washington's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Science Leadership Academy are ranked 115th).

George Washington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those five matches. Having lost for the first time this season, Science Leadership Academy fell to 7-1-1.
