Recap: Middletown Islanders vs. Central Falls Warriors

The Middletown Islanders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 39-27 defeat to Central Falls. Middletown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Central Falls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Despite the loss, Middletown still got an impressive performance from Ella Bolano, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Bolano scored a full 40.7% of Middletown's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Middletown bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.0 points per game. As for Central Falls, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Middletown will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln School at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Falls, they will be playing at home against Narragansett at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Narragansett will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
