Preview: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Mitchell Bluejackets
The Orleans Bulldogs will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Mitchell Bluejackets at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Orleans focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Orleans beat Austin 56-50.
Orleans' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mylie Knight, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Callie Alston, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Mitchell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 12th straight loss. They fell 43-34 to Salem.
Orleans' victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Mitchell, their loss was their tenth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-21.
Orleans skirted past Mitchell 46-44 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orleans since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
