Basketball Game Preview: Frankton Eagles vs. Churubusco Eagles

Frankton will be taking part in a tournament against Churubusco at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Churubusco took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Frankton, who comes in off a win.

Frankton will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Wapahani, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles secured a 39-35 W over the Raiders on Tuesday.

Trey Bennett continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 17 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in January. Ethan Stansberry was another key player, putting up six points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Churubusco is still winless after their game against Woodlan last Saturday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Warriors. On the bright side, the 48- point performance marked the Eagles' highest-scoring contest to date.

Loss or not, Churubusco got some senior leadership from Josiah Morales and Christian Behling. Morales earned 11 points and three steals, while Behling scored nine points. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Morales.

Frankton's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Churubusco, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
