Football Recap: Lodi Flames vs. Merced Bears
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lodi had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Merced Bears 49-19. The Flames' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Merced lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bree Pimentel, who picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Antonia Lejarde was another key signal caller, throwing for 317 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Lodi, bringing their record for this year to 22-6. As for Merced, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
Lodi wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 39-18 defeat against Christian Brothers on the 31st. Merced does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
