Volleyball Recap: David Anderson Comes Up Short

David Anderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wellsville Tigers. If the Blue Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, David Anderson sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 13-25, 25-14, 22-25, 15-10.

Maddie Marshalek paced David Anderson's offense, picking up 14 kills. Marshalek got some help from Stefanee Stacey and her 27 assists. Stacey also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alayna Householder, racking up two apiece.

David Anderson now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Wellsville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, David Anderson will face off against United at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wellsville, they will take on Toronto at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
