Basketball Recap: Taylor County Takes a Loss

Taylor County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 39-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maclay Marauders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-20 back in December of 2024.

Maclay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Guyer led the charge by putting up 16 points along with eight boards and six steals. Journey Kramer was another key player, posting six points in addition to 12 rebounds and four steals.

Taylor County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Maclay, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing North Florida Christian the next time they take the court. Maclay will head out to face North Florida Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Taylor County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st.
