Basketball Preview: Sioux County Warriors vs. Crawford Rams

Sioux County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Crawford Rams on Tuesday. Crawford took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Sioux County, who comes in off a win.

Sioux County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 55-24 win over Oelrichs at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Sioux County has managed all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sioux County to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Skavdahl, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Skavdahl hasn't dropped below 13 rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cy Hughson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.

Meanwhile, Crawford took a serious blow against the Doggers on Saturday, falling 76-27. While losing is never fun, Crawford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 170th in Nebraska, while the Doggers are ranked tenth in Wyoming).

Sioux County's victory bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Crawford, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Sioux County ended up a good deal behind the Rams in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 49-33. Can Sioux County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
