Thompson is a perfect 3-0 against Harvey since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Tommies are taking a road trip to face off against the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Thompson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.7 runs per game this season.

Thompson is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Dakota's top teams: Velva/Drake/Anamoose, who was ranked first at the time (Thompson was ranked ninth). The Tommies came up short against the Aggies on Friday, falling 9-3. The match marked the Tommies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Claire Kolling was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Harvey's offense. They lost 8-0 to Beulah on Thursday. The Hornets have struggled against the Miners recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Harvey's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Thompson, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.

Thompson took their victory against Harvey in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 20-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tommies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
