Basketball Recap: Virginia High Comes Up Short

Virginia High was the 33-28 winner over Graham when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Virginia High Bearcats fell to the Graham G-Men 47-42.

Despite the loss, Virginia High saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kaiden Harris dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Jarvis, who posted ten points.

Virginia High's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Graham, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Virginia High will host Gate City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gate City will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Virginia High surely won't give up without a fight. As for Graham, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Union at 6:00 p.m.
